Ballarat City Council Enterprise Agreement Update

14 May 2024

It’s another big week of activity at Ballarat City Council!

Snap Rally at 11am, today
Today, the school crossing supervisors will be holding a rally at 11am on the steps on the Town Hall. We encourage members to join us and show solidarity with Council’s lowest paid workers on their break. (Please note this is not a work stoppage and members should not attend in ‘work time’).

Another rally with School Crossing Supervisors will take place at 11am on Thursday on the steps of the Town Hall.

Flyers and stickers arrive today!
Flyer and sticker packs will be handed out to members today. The packs include stickers for public bins and flyers to be handed out to members of the public while you work. Please contact your local delegate to grab a pack or drop by Ballarat Trades Hall on Camp St to pick one up.

New flyers and stickers will also be distributed at public facing locations today (Art Gallery, Libraries, Tourism and Customer Service). Please contact your ASU Organiser Zoe on 0474 333 463 if you need flyers dropped off at your workplace.

We have prepared a short FAQ dealing with common questions from the public. Check it out here .

Work bans intensify
This Friday the Heritage Festival kicks off. We will be implementing new work bans in the lead up to Friday to remind the public of the importance of your work (they really notice when it doesn’t get done!). Please get in touch with your local delegate to find out how you can participate in these new work bans.

Bargaining meeting tomorrow
The ASU Bargaining team will meet with management tomorrow to hear their response to the ASU’s Counter Wages offer. More details about the counter offer here.

Spread the message - join the union! You can download a flyer here  about why non-members should join the Union so they can participate in protected industrial action. Please share it with your colleagues.
