Ballarat City Council Revised Wages Offer

02 May 2024

The ASU held a mass meeting of members today at Ballarat Trades Hall to consider management’s revised wage offer.

You can download management’s revised wage offer here . There is still some detailed clauses to work through and still a meeting to take place about childcare wages and conditions. These will take place over the next week.

There are positives in management’s offer and that is because workers took action – voting no to the proposed enterprise agreement and voting to take industrial action.

However, ASU members are concerned that the wage offer does not bring Ballarat wages in line with similar Councils like Geelong and Bendigo. ASU members voted at today’s meeting to reject management’s wage offer.

They also endorsed commencing strong industrial action next week and in the lead up to Ballarat’s Heritage Festival. Download the list of potential work bans here . Please have a look at the list and talk to your delegate about activity in your work area.

ASU Members have also endorsed putting a revised counter-offer to management of 5%, 6%, 6% or equivalent flat dollar increase. We are meeting again with management next Wednesday. At that meeting we will present this counter offer.

Only ASU members can take part in protected industrial action. Encourage your co-worker to join the ASU today at https://www.asuvictas.com.au/VICTAS/Join
