Yarra Ranges Shire Council: EBA update and letter to the CEO

30 August 2024

Yarra Ranges Council is not listening to its workforce and is proposing to push through the new EBA this month.

Council has not budged from the proposed 2.75% increase in Year 1, and an unknown rate cap percentage increase in years 2 and 3.  For a Band 3D worker, this increase is only equivalent to about $35 per week.

Members have told ASU delegates and officials that this is not good enough!  ASU reps are trying to get the CEO to come to the table to speak to us and have written to her.

See our letter here.

Please share this letter with your colleagues and print it out and leave it in public places. The more workers that understand where the EBA process is at, the more likely we are to get a better deal.

BUT, if the vote goes out, ASU members are encouraged to talk to their colleagues and tell everyone to VOTE NO!

If you have any questions about the EBA process, speak to an ASU delegate or contact lead organiser Phillipa Balk [email protected]

The ASU is by your side. Talk to a co-worker about the importance of union membership and ask them to join the ASU at https://www.asuvictas.com.au/VICTAS/Join
